TESTIMONIALS

We knew when we were first married that, although our professions would keep us in the city, a home in the country was our "dream." I grew up on a farm in south central Nebraska and truly value that way of living. My husband grew up in Omaha but loves to hunt and enjoys the outdoors. For years we drove around in the country on Sunday afternoons looking for an old farm place with a cute little farmhouse and an old gambrel-roofed barn. We looked at many homes but didn't find anything that didn't need a new roof, new windows, a new foundation, a new well, etc. We finally decided that, although we love the charm of an old house, if we were going to start living our "dream," we were going to have to build a new home in the country. We love our new home, which we designed with and old farmhouse in mind, but the place was definitely missing something. The addition of an old chicken house from my parents' farm helped, but what we really needed was a barn...an old gambrel-roofed barn! click here for more

I've always been fascinated with barns. Once moving onto acreage, I had a chance to have one of my own. I looked into moving an old barn, but the opportunities were limited and there is a lot more involved than I anticipated. Throughout my research on the subject I came across the option of a kit barn.

I had a 22' one and a half story Nebraska barn with a 12' lean-to on each side built last winter. Now I have all the nostalgia of an old barn in a new building! It adds so much more character to my acreage than a sterile metal building. The boys in the band also love the acoustics. click here for the video

I'm very happy with the structure. The space inside and general feel of openness inside is just what I envisioned 1 year ago when I placed my order with you for the kit. The detail of the beams make it all look extra special.

"Thank you for your patience, you have been very nice through all of the changes and teeth gnashing that I was doing. The other night it was storming. The sky was very black. The red barn against the black sky was very striking. We have two ladies up the road, one is 83 and the other is in her 70's. They said that they are going to bring their books and climb to the loft and read one day."
